A message from our mayor, Rudy Wersal:
Dear Peffersburgians,
Welcome to our website. I’d like to take this opportunity to raise awareness about an injustice which affects all of us, but especially me. As you all know, our previous Mayor, Mary Ullman, fled the county following the auspicious ribbon cutting at the now famous Corndog Palace. What some of you may not know is that, prior to running off like a thief in the night, Mayor Ullman was promised unlimited free corn dogs for a term of one year as a token of appreciation from the Corn Dog Palace for overseeing their ribbon cutting ceremony. Under the circumstances, it seems only fair and just that, in addition to the many, many responsibilities I am undertaking as Mayor, this prize should transfer to me.
I have made my position known to Dean and Janet, the proprietors of the Corn Dog Palace, but they have refused to listen to reason and honor the contract they established with Mayor Ullman, but with me in her place. I would like to urge you, the citizens of Peffersburg, to please talk to Dean and Janet and make them understand that an injustice anywhere, no matter how small, can lead to injustice everywhere. Not on my watch, and not in my town. Sure, today they’re just withholding corn dogs from the Mayor, but where does it end? This is a slippery slope, so this affects all of us, but still mostly me. I pray that we can avoid litigation, and can reach some form of compromise, and I need your help to achieve this goal peacefully.
Thank you,
Mayor Rudy Wersal, Democrat, Peffersburg, OH
